ABOUT Tate Schmergel

Currently enrolled at the University of Southern California in Los Angeles, CA, Tate is working towards two bachelor’s degrees in International Relations, Global Business and French. He commutes between Denver and Los Angeles throughout the year and is expected to graduate in the spring of 2023.

Photography plays an integral role in his life, as he can be found running from class to a shoot on any given day. His camera is his third eye, and the work he does in any field reflects the aesthetic creativity he has developed over nearly a decade of involvement in photography.

In high school, Tate was featured in three separate gallery shows, including the Museum of Contemporary Art in Denver and the Scholastic Award-Winning Exhibition. He has worked on a number of different specialty jobs that span from brand-promotion, to capturing shots for businesses, to dance and family portraits.

His main work lies in portraiture, which is evidenced by his vast portfolio of senior photos, class projects in film and digital photography, and other various shoots. He continually seeks new opportunities to grow his brand and portfolio, now extending across the country.
